Nancy Pelosi made a metallic statement on the red carpet at the 47th Kennedy Center Honors in Washington, DC on Sunday. The annual ceremony presents lifetime achievement awards to individuals in the entertainment industry. This year’s honorees include Francis Ford Coppola, Bonnie Raitt and The Grateful Tot.
Pelosi opted for an ensemble by Giorgio Armani, consisting of a beige sleeveless midi dress with an iridescent wave pattern and a gold soutache leather jacket. She completed her look with embellished pumps, a set of diamond jewelry and a bold red lip.

The former House Speaker was accompanied by her husband Paul, who wore a classic tuxedo and bow tie.
Pelosi’s appearance at the Kennedy Center Honors marked a departure from her typical pantsuit. In August, for example, the politician opted for a powder blue blazer and pants for an appearance on “Good Morning America.” Matching patent leather heels and a colorful statement necklace completed her ensemble.
In conversation with moderator George Stephanopoulos, Pelosi went into more detail about President Joe Biden’s legacy. I have the utmost respect for the president,” she said. “I think he will be [viewed as] one of our country’s most consequential presidents.”
Armani’s latest fashion show took place in New York in October, his first in the Big Apple since 2013. His spring 2025 presentation drew a star-studded audience including Amanda Seyfried, Brie Larson and Brooke Shields.
“This trip to New York has deeply personal meaning for me, even more so than my last visit, as it coincides with two milestones: I just turned 90 and my company will soon celebrate its 50th anniversary,” Armani previously told WWD the show. “I approach this trip like a cinema experience and remember the films that fascinated me in my youth and shaped my aesthetic.”
