In an interview with HT Lifestyle, Dt Inshara Mahedvi, consultant and nutritionist at Motherhood Hospital, Lullanagar in Pune, shared, “With increasing seasonal change, children are more prone to various health complications. This increases the likelihood of becoming ill frequently. This sudden transition can cause fluctuations in humidity and temperature while increasing the risk of exposure to multiple allergens. This makes it easier for viruses and diseases to spread faster than usual. During these times, children often struggle with seasonal illnesses such as cough, fever, flu and infections.”
She revealed: “This can cause discomfort while also making her frustrated, grumpy and moody. Therefore, to protect children from these seasonal changes, it is crucial to focus on achieving their daily nutritional goals. This can help strengthen their immune system, which can act as a protective shield against these health complications. Parents should try to include foods specifically containing immune-boosting nutrients in their daily diet. This can help them prepare their children for the sudden change in the weather while keeping them healthy and fit.”
